Call for proposals

The African Studies Section of the Portuguese Political Science Association organises its first Graduate Conference on October 23, 2024 at Institute of Social Sciences-University of Lisbon & Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon. The event aims to bring together students and early-career scholars whose research focuses on the African continent and contributes to knowledge production within major areas of political science, comparative politics, political economy, political theory and international relations. The Conference also welcomes research embracing multidisciplinary and multi- methodological perspectives on African Politics.

The Conference is open to graduate students (Master’s or PhD) and junior postdoctoral researchers, who we encourage to act as panel chairs/discussants.

Deadlines and Guidelines:
Call for proposals: 1-30 June 2024
Communication of results: 1-10 July 2024
